A Personal Mission

NFL All-Pro Linebacker, Bobby Wagner lost his mother, Phenia Mae Wagner, to stroke complications three years before he was drafted into the NFL. Having someone close to him suffer from a stroke and seeing first hand the after-effects they experience, made Bobby want to help other stroke patients get back on their feet.

In memory of his mother, Bobby created the Phenia Mae Fund and has partnered with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Cedar Sinai, National Children’s Hospital, and Kaiser Permanente to establish a fund that assists stroke patients and promotes stroke education. Wagner and his family know firsthand the challenges that stroke recovery can have on loved ones and want to ensure that stroke patients have the equipment needed to aid in their rehabilitation.
